Condominium, Strata and HOA Websites

What is a condo, strata, or HOA website good for?

Many people have become renters in the past years with so many foreclosures. Now that the economic times are improving, people are looking for new real estate. Condominiums and stratas offer them a chance to purchase a piece of real estate without needing to seek an entire house with all of its extra costs and responsibilities. The word, “strata” refers to a condominium and is the word used mostly in British Columbia. A HOA or Homeowners Association is mostly used in the United States.

What you can learn

The place to go to learn all there is to know about each particular condominium building are the buildings' or associations' own websites. Just a little of the information that people will discover on these websites is:

  • The address
  • The number of units
  • The number of bathrooms
  • Average square footage in the unit
  • Average asking price
  • History
  • Latest news or events
  • Information about the neighborhood
  • ... and more

What will you get out of it

Depending on the website or solution an association uses, these websites can be a big help in leading people in the right decision. If they have very good information, people will be able to see everything almost as well as if they visited the property personally. Along with detailed descriptions of the units, they will know before they ever leave their computers whether or not it is worth the trip to view each potential new home.

For residents, owners or tenants, if they have a way to communicate with each other they can grow a nice community. This will bring everyone in the property closer together and the community will grow.

The benefit of a Social Networking Website

The old school static websites where only a handful of people, usually board members, can manage the content have become quite obsolete. They are rarely updated and the information posted becomes obsolete. This is why the best option is to create a website, or communication portal as we call it, that is social at its roots. This way, the residents will keep on adding additional content and resourceful information for everbody's benefit. But these social websites need to be controlled as well, like behind a secure login, thus only approved users are able to add to the community.
